Anointing of the Sick

Annual Mass of the Sick

Every year in October, our parish holds a special Mass where elderly people and those who are sick may receive the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. The date is published in our parish bulletin.

After a Mass

If you know that you will be admitted to the hospital for surgery or for any serious reason, and if you ask, Fr. George Dalton will gladly administer the Anointing of the Sick after any parish Mass.

At Home

If a family member is gravely ill and in need of the Anointing of the Sick, please call the Parish Office at 412-794-4028 to set up a time when Fr. George can come for the anointing.

In Hospitals or other Healthcare Facilities

For all healthcare facilities, the Diocese of Pittsburgh appoints specific priests to be on call to administer the Sacraments to anyone who is in need of them.  The staff at each facility should know which priest to contact.  Saint Irenaeus and Fr. George Dalton are responsible for all facilities which are located in the Borough of Oakmont.
