PASSION PLAY "Why Must He Die?"
presented by
Tri-county Choir Institute's Teen Chorale
Sunday, March 7, 2010 2:00 PM at St. Irenaeus Church
"Why Must He Die?" is a 75-minute meditation through music,
drama, and liturgical dance on the life, death, and resurrection
of Jesus. This is a unique passion play using a play within a
play. Throughout the trial of Jesus by Pilate and the Accusers,
the action is repeatedly frozen while the disciples and apostles
reflect on the life of Jesus and react to the events leading to
His Death. They share their thoughts with the audience as if
they were observing the trial. Written and directed by Sewickley
Hills resident Linda Wallace, "Why Must He Die?" has
been presented in over 100 churches and schools over the
last 18 years. A good will offering will be taken.

Thank you from Society of St. Vincent de Paul Thanks to the ongoing and very generous support of our
Parish family, The St. Irenaeus Conference of the Society of St.
Vincent de Paul was able to provide financial and material
assistance totaling almost $18,000 to 215 people in
Oakmont, Verona, Penn Hills and other nearby communities in
the past year. The Conference assisted people facing serious
financial problems because of illness, job loss, divorce or
separation, or other reasons, by helping them buy food and
household items, pay utility bills, make rent or mortgage
payments, and by arranging for them to get clothing or
furniture at little or no cost to them from the St. Vincent de
Paul store in Penn Hills. Most of the assistance we were able
to provide went to families with babies and young children.
Often we were able to make a last minute utility payment that
prevented the shutoff of gas, light or water service during
the coldest months of the year. We would not have been able
to help the individuals and families who called on us were it
not for your generosity. Your use of the green "Poor Box"
envelopes found in the pews as well as contributions some of
you made in memory of friends and family members provided the
money we used to help those in need - many of them in
desperate need with nowhere else to turn. Thank you and God
bless you for all you have done to help us help our
neighbors in need.
