Holy Hour Devotions Holy Hour Devotions for March will be on Thursday, March 20th in Church.

Because March 20th is Holy Thursday, devotions will be from 8:00 p.m. until midnight instead of 7:00-8:00 p.m.

There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, opportunity for prayer, and Benediction.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

CCD Easter Break There will be no CCD on Easter Sunday, March 23rd or Monday, March 24th as we celebrate the Easter holiday-HAPPY EASTER!
Classes will resume the following week.

Children�s Liturgy There will be no Children�s Liturgy on Easter Sunday, March 23rd. Happy Easter, Children�s Liturgists Moms).

Our parish provides spiritual care each month at three local nursing homes. We are in need of volunteers to assist nursing home residents in attending Mass at Presbyterian Senior Care, Longwood at Oakmont Healthcare Center and Golden Living Center (formerly Beverly Health Care). It requires only one and a half to two hours of your time once a month. You will have the satisfaction of helping those who can�t get to Mass otherwise. The Annual Diocesan Holy Land Collection This collection, which supports the maintenance to the holy shrines and Franciscan missionaries of the Holy Land, will be taken up at the Passion Service on Good Friday, March 21st.

Due to Easter occurring early this year and the possibility of cold weather, we will not be having an annual Easter Egg Hunt. Instead, there will be an Easter Procession for toddlers through second grade on Easter Sunday at 12:15 p.m. The children will process through the church accompanied by Ken Hand on the organ and will receive gift bags at the end of the procession. You are welcome to bring your cameras and camcorders.

SCHOOL NEWS

STOP IN FOR BREAKFAST SUNDAY, March 30th St. Irenaeus School is sponsoring a Spring Breakfast. Stop in Blough Hall after the 8:00 and 11:00 Masses, and for $5.00 (Children $3.00) you will have a delicious and pleasant breakfast. Come and sit for awhile; meet some parishioners; meet our school parents; and most of all, meet the children!

DIVISION I �First and Second Place Winners Lyndis Kenny-Howell, Grade 6, was the Division I First Place winner of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elk�s American Essay Contest for the Metropolitan District. Lyndis� essay has been sent to the Pennsylvania State Chairman for entry into the State Level. Matt Hammel, Grade 5, came in second place. We are proud to have Lyndis and Matt representing St. Irenaeus School in this competition!

WHAT A SEASON! Our Boys Basketball Team, Grades 3-4-5 walked off with another trophy! Two weekends in a row the team won a tournament and this has not happened in the past 12 years! We thank our coaches, Dan Hammel and Ralph Pater, along with Lou Bosser for a great season for both our boys and girls basketball teams. And thank you to Amy Willard and Melanie Weir for providing an enjoyable �Cheerleading Squad� at the events.

Our Athletic Awards Banquet will be held on Thursday, March 27th at 6:30 p.m. in Blough Hall.


St. Irenaeus Youth will meet this weekend, on Sunday, March 16th at 12:30 p.m. in front of the youth center. They will then go to Resurrection Parish in Brookline to attend the Hunger Banquet.
