ATTENTION CATHOLIC MEN: Don't miss the third annual Diocesan
wide Gathering of Catholic Men on
April 12, 2008 at Duquesnes AJ
Palumbo Center. It's a day of
prayer, fellowship, worship and inspiration. To
register, contact Joe Killian at 412-828-9450
or for more information visit www.cmfpitt.org.
When we pray "The Lords Prayer" we ask God to provide our
food. Most of us are provided with enough food, but others are
not. We all can be our Fathers instruments for providing "bread"
to the needy. You can help with your donations to the St.
Irenaeus Church St. Vincent de Paul Society.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
Altar Server Training For those who were unable to attend the last training for altar
servers, there will be a makeup session. On Saturday, March 29th
at noon, Fr. Frank will meet with interested students in 4th grade
and above. The training lasts for about one hour. It is not necessary
to attend this session if your child attended the first session.
CCD Home-schooling On Sunday March, 30th parents are to keep their children home
and complete their lessons with them as the CCD staff is meeting
with the Diocesan Office for Religious Education that morning.
Lessons were brought home or mailed last week. Please have
your children return their completed lessons to their teachers
on Sunday, April 6th.
First Communion Parent Meeting On Sunday, April 6th, there will be a mandatory meeting at 9:30a.m. in the PLEC for parents of all First Communion students.
This is the last parent meeting prior to First Communion so it is
critical that every child be represented at the meeting.
St. Irenaeus Youth will not meet this weekend.
Happy Easter!
Our parish provides spiritual care each
month at three local nursing homes.
We are in need of volunteers to assist nursing
home residents in attending Mass at Presbyterian
Senior Care, Longwood at Oakmont
Healthcare Center and Golden Living Center
formerly Beverly Health Care). It requires
only one and a half to two hours of your time
once a month. You will have the satisfaction of
helping those who can't get to Mass otherwise.
Please call Father Frank at the parish office,
412/828-3065 if you would like to help.
Rediscover Your Marriage - Retrouvaille
(pronounced retro-vi with a long i) simply means
"rediscovery." The program offers the chance to
rediscover yourself, your spouse, and a loving
relationship in your marriage. It will give you the
opportunity to examine your lives together in a new
and positive way. Tens of thousands headed for
divorce have successfully saved their marriages by
attending. For confidential information about or to
register for the spring program beginning with a
weekend on April 4-6, 2008, call 1-800-470-2230,
send an e-mail to 3041@retrouvaille.org, or visit the
web site at www.helpourmarriage.com

EASTER BLESSINGS TO ALL OF OUR STUDENTS, FAMILIES, TEACHERS AND PARISHIONERS!
Due to Easter occurring early this year
and the possibility of cold weather, we
will not be having an annual Easter
Egg Hunt. Instead, there will be an
Easter Procession for toddlers through
second grade on Easter Sunday at 12:15
p.m. The children will process through the church
accompanied by Ken Hand on the organ and will
receive gift bags at the end of the procession. You
are welcome to bring your cameras and camcorders.
Do not abandon yourself to despair. We are the Easter
people and Alleluia is our song.
